When you register as a keyholder we’ll book you onto an induction in H&S and studio and security procedures where you must demonstrate proficiency and an awareness of the relevant responsibilities that come with working in a keyholder printmaking environment. Following your induction you’ll receive your key and are free to start making the most of your keyholder membership.
Keyholders are free to come and go 24 hours outside open access days (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings) although it is possible to arrange access on these days if there is available space.
Costs:
Induction £20 one-off payment
£90/month standard £72/month for SFSA members
Membership is collected by standing order with a minimum sign up of 1 year. A notice of 4 months must be given to cancel membership.
Keyholders carry the additional responsibility of helping studio staff with occasional studio cover on open access days. This is likely to be a few days per year – you would only be expected to assist in the area of your expertise/experience – and will be timetabled well in advance. Your cover days assistance would always be alongside a TBPS staff member.
If you’d like further information or are interested in becoming a keyholder please email Carolyn Nicoll, Print Studio Manager at: enquiries@thamesbarrier-printstudio.co.uk or call 0208 316 5522
Any printmaker with enough experience to work independently in the studio. If you have previous experience of or are familiar with an open access studio that’s useful but not essential. There is technical expertise on hand during open access days but not in a teaching capacity. If you need some tutorial help we can arrange 1:1 training or you can opt for one of our courses.
As with keyolders you’ll be expected to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the printmaking processes at your one-hour induction. After your induction you’re free to continue working through your session and the following sessions/s if space is available.
Open access members have the option to become keyholders if the studio is satisfied that you have sufficient experience and likewise keyholders can change to open access membership – a swap will be
considered.
Open access members pay an annual membership and for each booked session.
Costs:
Induction £20 one-off payment
Membership £50 – per year standard/ £40- per year concession*
*SFSA members, Greenwich Borough residents, students, graduates of 2 years, JSA and over 6o’s. Collected annually by standing order
